Design Process

After initial consultation, your design project will progress in several phases

DESIGN BRIEF

This is the exciting part where you get to have a telephone/google meets call with our interior designer. During the call, we prioritize discussing your specific needs and exploring any existing furniture or art pieces that could inspire the project.

We focus on understanding the project's intentions, primary purpose, lifestyle considerations and budget. By doing so, we lay a strong foundation for the next stage, the 'concept stage.'

CONCEPT

The initial stage of the design process can involve developing/sourcing 2D & 3D floor plans which provide a way for us all to visualise how people will move through the space and highlight any potential challenges so we can re-design if needed.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Upon client approval of the concept the next stage is getting more into the finer details. This is where we will look at furniture, fixtures and any existing furniture or art you may wish to incorporate. We analyse each room's specifications and work alongside craftsmen to design each component with attention to detail.

We present multiple options for colour, texture, and fabric schemes for each room. Final changes can be made before moving forward to finalise the design and agree on a timeline for implementation.

PROCUREMENT

When the client has approved final designs, we then are able to move to procurement and arrange costings for each phase of the project. This is where the FDI’s expertise and relationships with suppliers is put to use. Providing the client with full transparency of the budget in hand.

INSTALLATION

FDI oversee and coordinate all deliveries either directly to site or via a recommended storage company until the site is ready for final installation. We will continue to be involved until the installation is complete, ensuring that everything is in place as per the agreed-upon design and timeline.
